Nicola Da Lio tells the story of your wedding as reportage, without posing you. While he photographs you, the guests photograph themselves at the photobooth: two accounts of the same day.

He doesn’t pose you
Every wedding has a rhythm of its own. Nicola’s work comes from listening, from watching and from a discreet presence that leaves room for people and for real feeling: he doesn’t build moments, he recognises them as they happen. What you see in his galleries really happened, and it happened that way.
That’s why his work starts before the wedding, by talking. He cares more about the spirit and personality of the people he photographs than about any pose he could put them in, and knowing who you are is the only way to recognise, on the day itself, the moment that looks like you.
The couples agree: he has received the Matrimonio.com Wedding Awards, given to the professionals most recommended by the people who chose them, five years in a row, from 2020 to 2024. He is an ANFM member with the title of Selected Photographer.

The questions about the photographer
Does Nicola pose you?
No. He works as a reportage photographer: he stays inside the day and photographs it as it happens. No lined-up groups, no looking into the camera on request, no scene done a second time because the first one wasn’t framed well.
Colour or black and white?
Both, chosen photo by photo: full colour where the day had it, black and white where colour added nothing. Never a fashionable filter, which in ten years dates a photograph instead of telling it.
Can we have video too?
Yes. Photographs and films can be had together, on the same day and by the same hand: short trailers, cut to the rhythm of the day rather than its chronicle. You’ll find them on Nicola’s site.
Where does he work?
The studio is in Martellago, in the province of Venice. He photographs across Venice, Padua, Treviso, Vicenza, Verona and Friuli Venezia Giulia — and for a wedding he goes wherever the wedding is.
How many weddings does he take on a year?
Only a few, so he can give each one the time it deserves: before, during and after.
Can we have the photographer and the photobooth together?
Yes, and it’s the reason this page is here. Nicola photographs you; at the photobooth the guests photograph themselves, and put the print in their pocket before they go home.
